Our Locally Sourced Beef from the Farmers

AJ’s Country Meats are proud to provide direct from the farmer to your plate high quality grass beef giving superior consistent quality that melts in your mouth. All cattle have been treated with care their whole life ensuring their welfare is the highest priority. Happy cattle, happy farmer, happy customers.

What age are the cattle?

Our steers and heifers are generally aged between 16 and 24 months at processing. We age the beef for 10 days before breaking it down into the various order requirements. We choose to pack all our beef for our customers into serving size bags ready for the freezer for your convenience. This all results in tender, juicy, delicious beef.

How fresh is our meat?

AJ’s sources our beef direct from the local farmer and processed to give you the freshest meat. Any fresher and it would be mooing at you! Small business supporting farmers, Paddock to Plate.

What will my order include? 

T-Bone Steak, Eye fillet steak, Rump steak, Rib fillet steak, Beef strips/diced, Topside roast, Silverside (corned), Osso Bucco, Blade roast, Oyster blade/Y-bone steak, Rolled Rib roast, Spare ribs, Brisket, mince, tasty sausages and bones for your furry babies! All meat will be packed into serving size thick bags ready to pack into your freezer, labelled for your convenience.

An 1/8th order (ie. Taste) is a great option for a single person or a family of two.

Or consider sharing a larger order with a friend or another family to take advantage of the lower price per kg.

What will my order cost and how is it calculated? Dressed Weight?

Buying beef in large quantities either the whole animal (ie. whole beef pack), side (ie. ½ beef pack), quarter or an eighth is a different way to purchase meat.

Because we process the whole animal, bones are included in the price of your order.  You’ll receive all bones and fat with your delivery. The marrow bones are excellent for bone broth and the rest is great for your furry animal friends.

We calculate your price based on the ‘dressed weight’ of the carcass which is slightly different to the amount of beef you will receive ie. The ‘delivered weight’. This diagram below explains the difference.

Weight-loss during the butchering process into ready-to-cook cuts is normal. You’ll find, the delivered weight price is amazing value, high eating quality with delicious flavour. Plus you’re supporting a local farming family!

When will I know what the actual total price of my beef Pack?

AJ’s will contact you with the ‘dressed weight’ of the beef that you have chosen, along with the total price based on that weight, once the carcass has been weighed and is hanging to age.

Deposit is paid on booking of beef pack with the remainder to be paid before meat pack is delivered/picked up.

Why is the price so low compared to supermarket?

We’re able to give you the best deal and outstanding value on our high quality beef because we deal directly with our local farmers and you our valued customers. We cut out all the in-between processes, which allows us to give you the highest quality meat at a fair price.

How do I pay?

One of AJ’s Friendly staff will ring and confirm your beef pack order. Deposit is paid on booking of beef pack with the remainder to be paid before meat pack is delivered/picked up.  Meat will not be delivered without payment. Card details are not stored and destroyed after processing for your security.  

How is my meat packed?

A pickup/delivery date is confirmed with you once beef is processed. Your beef pack is packed into thick serving size bags with labels and placed into boxes and sealed. If being delivered your meat is transported in a refrigerated AJs vehicle which is registered with Food Safe Queensland. This ensures the goods are delivered to you meeting national food safety standards.

We offer delivery to the Theodore, Banana & Wandoan areas. *If interested in us delivering to New location please contact us*

How long between ordering & delivering?

Approximately 3 weeks. From ordering and deposit paid we booking in the beef to be processed, aged for over 7 days, cut up and packed for pickup.

It’s easy to purchase online from our website in beef pack sections.
